This Privacy Policy explains how Stormbreak Studios collects, uses, and safeguards information when you play Hexhull at hexhull.com.

1. Who we are

Hexhull is a browser-based naval combat game published by Stormbreak Studios, an indie game studio based in Australia.

2. What we collect

You provide: email address, username, password (hashed by Firebase Authentication — we never see your plain-text password).

Automatically: gameplay data (ship customisations, gold coins, level, experience, unlocks, achievements, lifetime stats, leaderboard entries) and technical data (IP address and timestamps logged by Firebase for security).

Analytics: we use Google Firebase Analytics to measure aggregate gameplay patterns — how many people sign up, how long matches last, which features are used. Analytics events are anonymous and never include your email, username, or password.

We do NOT collect: payment data (the game is free), location data beyond Firebase's security logging, advertising/tracking cookies, voice or chat data, or your activity on other websites.

3. How we use it

Only to: provide the game, secure your account, send account-related emails (verification, password reset), and improve the service. We do not send marketing emails. We do not sell your data — ever.

4. Who we share with

Google Firebase (our auth and database provider). Public leaderboards show your username and gameplay stats — but never your email. Legal authorities only if required by law.

5. Where it's stored

Google Cloud servers in the us-central1 region (Iowa, USA).

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, delete, or export your data. The fastest way to delete your account is the "Delete My Account" button in the profile menu — this removes your Firebase Auth record, profile data, and leaderboard entries. For other requests, email us with the subject "Privacy Request".

7. Children's privacy

Hexhull is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in some jurisdictions). We don't knowingly collect data from children under those ages.

8. Cookies and storage

Hexhull uses your browser's localStorage to save settings and game state. We don't use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

9. Security

We use HTTPS encryption and Firebase's industry-standard authentication. No method is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your data.

10. Changes

We'll update the date at the top when this changes. For material changes, we'll notify users in-game or by email.

EU/UK users may complain to their local data protection authority. Australian users may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

By creating an account or playing Hexhull, you agree to these Terms with Stormbreak Studios. If you don't agree, please don't use the game.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old. In some regions (e.g. EU, UK), you may need parental consent if under 16. Provide accurate information; one account per person.

2. Your account

Keep your password secure. You're responsible for all activity under your account. Contact us if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Use cheats, hacks, bots, or automation
• Modify, decompile, or reverse-engineer the game
• Exploit bugs or security vulnerabilities (please report these instead)
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other players
• Use offensive, hateful, or impersonating usernames
• Use the game for illegal purposes
• Resell, transfer, or commercialise your account or items
• Disrupt our servers (DDoS, spam writes)
• Create multiple accounts to evade bans

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Your content

When you create a username or contribute content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it as part of operating the game. You retain ownership.

5. Our content

The game's code, art, sounds, and design are owned by Stormbreak Studios. You're granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to play the game for personal, non-commercial use only.

6. In-game items and currency

In-game currency (gold coins) has no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for real money or transferred between accounts. Items and currency are a licence to use within the game — they're not your property. We may add, modify, or remove items at any time. If your account is terminated for violating these Terms, you forfeit any items and currency.

7. Game availability

We strive to keep the game running but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability or permanent service. Features may change, be added, or removed.

8. Termination

By you: Use the "Delete My Account" button in your profile — this is permanent.

By us: We may terminate accounts for Terms violations, fraud, cheating, or as required by law.

9. Disclaimer

The game is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't warrant that the game will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stormbreak Studios is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of in-game progress, items, or currency. This doesn't exclude any rights you have under consumer protection laws (e.g. the Australian Consumer Law).

11. Changes

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

The following will be deleted:

• Your account and login credentials
• Your username, profile, and customisations
• All gold coins, unlocked vessels, and weapons
• All achievements and lifetime statistics
• Your leaderboard entries

You will be logged out immediately. You can create a new account later, but your data will not be recovered.
